About Us
Pomodoro Pizza and More has been part of the local restaurant scene since 2007 when long time Salt Spring business owners Jamie and Sherry Macdonell totally renovated and renamed the existing premises.
Healthy Wholesome Food
Fresh,healthy ingredients are basic to our principle of offering the best quality possible for our menu items. There is no salt added to any of our homemade sauces and dressings, and we use only extra virgin olive oil in our recipes. We offer Laughing Daughters gluten free crusts available in personal and 10” sizes for those with gluten allergies. Our signature cheese is an blend of mozzarella, edam and provolone, not the pasteurized processed “cheese food” offered by some inexpensive pizza chains. We also offer soya cheese for those who are lactose intolerant. Our winter soups are made in house, and we also offer organic coffee. Whenever possible, we source local suppliers and feature their products on our menu.
Convenience
For the times when it’s just not convenient to pick up at Pomodoro, we offer a selection of ½ baked pizzas in the new Country Grocer deli for after hours convenience. If you would prefer to take our pizza home and bake it later, we offer any of our 14 inch pizzas in a “Take and Bake” format – they are boxed and ready to bake on their own oven proof and recyclable tray.
Sustainability
Pomodoro supports the Planet Zero recycling program, composting and recycling wherever possible. Sourcing ingredients and suppliers locally wherever possible helps to decrease our impact on the environment and we are always searching for better ways to reduce waste.
Community
Pomodoro is committed to ongoing support of the community through year round donations. We have been happy to sponsor a variety of local organizations and causes including Salt Spring radio, the local Lion’s club, Copper Kettle, the Poppy Fund and others.
